So Cal
I have a Venustus that I believe to be a female. Last Thanksgiving I noticed that her butt was swollen looking and so I quarantined her. I was told that she most likely had parasites or worms and was told to put Tetracycline in her tank. I had her by herself until about 2 weeks ago and figured she got over it and put her back in my community tank.

Well the night before last I noticed that her butt was swollen up again so i took her out and put her back in a tank by herself and added Tetracycline. just a few mins ago I netted her to get a look at her and a whole bunch of egg looking things came out of her all at once. I think they came out of her mouth but I'm not positive. Anyways, I was hoping someone on here could tell me if these are eggs or parasites. Here is a couple of pics of what came out. Also, some I noticed some of these "egg" looking things last time too but not as many.

eggs, but are they fertile? Also female should be holding them... put in a tumbler if they a fertile... since she was alone I doubt they are fertile....

I've already removed them from the tank and they have just been sitting in a cup so I'm sure they're dead by now. They may have been fertile as she was in the community tank and I didn't notice an Electric Blue trying to mate with her.

dont really know of any venustus x breeds but i guess is possible. doubt they were fertile though. pick yourself up a male and give it a shot then

I have what I think is a male but I don't think he's old enough yet. I know it's not necessary to breed but he hasn't shown any color yet.
