I want to get other peoples opinions about putting these fish together. Clown knife fish, delhezi bichir, angel fish, Leopard ctenopoma, Discus, and featherfin catfish. I Currently have the Discus, Angelfish and Leapord ctenopma together right now and have for at least five years but Im getting a really big tank next month and would like to get the clown knife fish, delhezi bichir and featherfin catfish. So if they would all get along that would be great whats your opinion.
Thanks

It could work for quite awhile. I'd try hard to find a very mild-mannered clown knife and cross your fingers he isn't into eating tankmates as he grows. Aside from that the stock seems pretty reasonable.

How big of a tank?! The clown knife will eventually need +/- 300 gallons as he nears the three to four foot range.

The big problem is the difference of water parameters. Discus and Angel fish needs soft water with pH around 6. On the other hand, polypterus, ctenopoma and featherfin catfish needs heavy water with pH around 7,5. But, all are compatibles.

delhezi will only try to eat anything that will fit in his mouth so if everybody is near his size or at least full bodied you'll be okay

Funny thing is I have raised discus, angel fish, and leapord ctenpoma in hard and soft water and with ph up to 7.6 and never had any problems. My water hardness is 150 and p.h is 6.8 currently. Im Getting a 280 gallon tank.

The discus is not a good match for the new fish you're considering. They need very clean water to stay healthy, which generally means no tankmates over 12", unless the tank is heavily planted.

I have raised discus for ten years. I have never had problems with them. There actually a very easy fish to raise. My dad has breed and raised them for over 20 years and he has the hardest water and they all do great. He has kept them with fish well over 12 inches. Discus are actually a hardy fish in my opinion.

I agree, the problem is the discus as they are very sensitive and need soft water.

My dad has raised his in water thats 300 for hardness and they do fine its when they are breeding that they require soft water which good ol drift wood will do the trick if you want soft water
