These came in with some ghost shrimp from (I think Florida).

Are these green darters?? The pics aren't very good. They are green even though it didn't come up in the pics

They are about an inch and a half long and I guess they are a little washed out since I just took them out of the bag and put them into the specimen container

I don't think so....just doesnt look right to me....The mouth seems to be the wrong shape and position. But I am deffinatly no darter expert so my ID is about worthless lol.

That does not even look like a darter....i don't know why but the fins and mouth look different.

they look very darter-like to me. However, darters seem to have fins that kind of look like limbs that they use to "dart" around on rocks. They don't seem to have them...

Juvinile logperch maybe??

They are very fast and they are good jumpers.

Yea darters usually have like two sets of pectoral fins I think they are called....

it's kind of hard to tell because they are small and my pictures aren't that good. My camcorder's snapshot is bad.

I'll try grabbing the other digi cam to take more pics.

The otehr digi cam is broken so I tried my camcorder again.

They do have pectorals. The last one is a top view

Those are definitely darters, not sure which kind. Possible Johnny darters. Maybe logperch, but they are a little beefier.

They are probably swamp darters Etheostoma fusiforme, especially if they were collected with grass shrimp.

I think they are swamp darters judging by the spots on the dorsal and adipose fins. How big do they get?? how long do you think will it take until they reach adulthood??

I'm not even sure if they will eat flakes...
