Hey Y'all,

I know that the prevailing opinion is that bioballs aren't as effective when used in a canister, but these are slightly different. Kinda of like a hybrid bioball/ceramic media.

I was given a brand new box of "Pentair Bio-Mate" ceramic filled media balls at a yard sale recently & I was wondering what people's opinions would be, re: using this media in a canister filter (eheim classic 2215 or eheim pro2 2026).

Here's a pic:

Has anyone had any experiences with this media in a canister?

^^great movie.

:)

I guess I'll give it a shot. It'll be in 2215- which will be paired with the built-in wet dry on a 40g.

says in the desciption that one gallon of these "bio balls" filters 35 to 50 gallons of water. No way your gonna fit a gallon of those into either of the eheims you stated. Even if ya could you would be derating Eheim's recommendations for what size tank their filters will effectively work on.

Lol. I guess I should've RTFM:duh:....
