A local supplier is claiming that these are orinos, but I'm not 100% certain. What do you guys think? Sorry about the crappy pics, I only had my cellphone with me.

Thats a good question! lol

Some of those look like Tems...

Others look like orinos or Ocellaris...

How big are they? If they are under 3" your guess is as good as mine. Over 3" I say some are Orinos! :)

They are about an inch to an inch and a half. They want $20 each, so I'm a little hesitant to take a chance on them.

I would say buy the ones with solid lines... Or close to solid. You can never lose on those. All the cooler sp. will have it at a young age!

Do you know the locality of where they were collected?

Get the one with the line going through it. Looks like a Tem. The rest are too small to tell. If you see specks of gold going down the line then it's a good chance of it being Orinos.

Not always true... some monos will have some gold around spots or even down the line...

Usually the line on the face is a good sign on cichla that small! :)

They were supposedly collected from the Orinoco river, but I don't know how trustworthy the source is.

Your call bro! $20 isn't a bad price at all for everything but an Mono....

that's so pricey...I got mine that just like that for 7.99 each

Ya but are they Orinos? Most cichla look the same when young.

Do you have any pics of yours?
