i had to put these guys in here temporarily while i medicate the tank.
normally i think they are dead, they are extremely lazy, even at night. but when i put them in here, and put it under the tank in the dark for a few days, now they look like this;

if you get some clearer pics then i can help but i cant really tell.

no. the male snail will be on the back of the female but facing the side. you will see a definate white meaty organ coming from him and going into the opening of her shell.

Hmm, what are your water params?
My snails are ALWAYS moving, but when I started keeping them(I knew nothing about ammonia, trites, trates) they were slow, and didn't come out of the shell much at all because I had an ammonia problem..

Btw, beautiful snails.

heres a few pics of breding ASs. i used to breed snails in my 29s. if you're trying to breed ASs.
heres a few tips.

-I used crushed coral as subtrate. (keeps pH high to avoid shell erosion. its provides pleny of calcium for beautiful, smooth, strong shells)
-add lods of drift wood. they eat it, and it helps balance the pH.
-temerature at 81* snails breed at higher temp and they will grow much faster. (downs side, it burns them out and they will run though their life cycle faster)
-leave about 1-2" or 1.5 times their body length. they will lay their eggs above the water line and they are surface breethers. they must stay moist, they will hatch in 2 weeks. DO NOT submerge eggs, they will drown
-give plenty of food (they start breeding when temp rises and food become more plentiful) seedless cucumbers, fozed green peas, baby carrots, etc.
-(MAKE SURE THE VEGGIES ARE SALT FREE)
-keep the top closed at all time or they will crawl out and break when they hit the floor. (i've found eggs on the back of my tank before, they will escape) Also, keeping the top closed will prevent moisutre from escaping, keeping eggs from drying.

first pic if my mama snail. she lived about 2.5 years before she died. (pomacea canaliculata)
