Just want to make sure, are these Xantos?

I saw a couple of them in a LFS, I couldn't resist the temptation and picked up 2...

Both fish are currently around 5"+/-

On a side note, how much do Xanto goes for in the trade? or how much would you pay for 1? And I hope I didn't pay too much for these two.

its trying to be a xanto. It is more marbled now. It can continue on to become a xanto, stay or revert back. its a really nice fish and hopefully it will keep on changing. They demand a high price even when not fully changed.

It looks like a xantos to me, it's just not full gold yet. It may or may not reach full gold. From my experience even if it reverts back to all black, it is still capable of getting whatever gold back it once had. I had a 98% gold that revert back to 75% black and then in a few months became 100% gold. From the looks of the first pic, imo i think it has a good chance of becoming all gold, the black on body is not blotchy and appears to be fading and gold is starting to show through. When my gold xanto reverted back to black it looked alot like the one in first pic. How much did you pay?
