Are they compatible?

I haven't kept them together, but in that size tank I would be very careful for the same reason mentioned. What are the sizes of the particular fish

They should be fine aggressive wise, as they are both relatively peaceful. But depending on the dimensions of the 100g, they might outgrow it. They both grow 12"+.

is this true parrots or blood parrots, if they are a pair of true parrots then yes do it and get a bigger tank down the road if they arent full grown yet if blood parrots then i def wouldnt do it because i personally dont like them but if you like them then its your tank to do with what you want

I say go for it. I have heard some cases of really aggressive parrots, but chocolates aren't exactly pushovers either. I guess it all depends on how they take to each other. And for the most part parrots are very peaceful. You may however have some trouble when one pair decides to spawn. But if you move them to a large enough tank, that shouldn't be a problem.

I have successfully kept Chocolates and Parrots together for years. Keep a minimum of two sizeable hiding spaces for each fish in the tank, and when they get into a territorial mood, you have nothing to worry about.

Parrots and Chocolates both enjoy hiding places.

Parrots dig A LOT! Make sure to give them ample piles of substrate to play with. They'll stay so busy digging, they'll ignore the Chocolates for the most part.

Chocolates only seem to be aggressive when hiding in their home, and another fish tries to get near it--typical cichlid behavior.

Either way, I think the combination will be great, and both are incredibly slow growing, and long living.

You'll not need a larger tank for a long time to come--that I can assure you.

Are you talking about H. psittacus or the hybrid parrot that you just bred?

IME both grow fairly fast, either particularly likes digging, and they don't hide much.

In a way they have somewhat similar temperament - they are not troublemakers, but are not pushovers either.

Depends on the size of the fish, a 60 x 18 x 20 100g might be ok as a temporary home. I would not recommend keeping a pair of H. psittacus pair in a tank smaller than a 6x2x2 180g for long term.

Given proper care they will be massive and magnificent. Good choice of fish ;)
