i am making a space themed tank and want to put those black UV lights in the tank. there will be freshwater crabs in this tank. is this safe for them? atleast for short time periods?

I think they will be fine...

i cant find any for aquarium use so i think im gonna have to use a bolb from those uv light pet urine things. the thing that makes urine glow. so this uv lights wont be made for animals. im gonna try to hook this bolb up to my tank hood. is this still ok for the crabs?

lol....space themed tank. Sounds cool. The bulb should be alright as long as it is shielded from direct contact with the water. The crabs will be alright...they might just feel a long way from home.

lol yeah. i make interesting aquascapes for my art class.

wat do u mean my direct contact with the water?

If water is splashed onto the bulb, it will shatter. You need to shield the bulb either with a cover or a topper below the bulb to keep the water from hitting the bulb.
