*Sorry, I don't know how to do polls*

** Hoarder means you keep collecting things and never throw anything away**

I used to be bad at it, but when we moved to our new smaller house I threw away alot of stuff(but I still am to some degree). But now my wife is becoming one badly. Our house is stuffed, you can hardly walk around upstairs. People at my wife's work is always offering her things and she is aways bringing them home.

I tell her we don't have room, but she argues that it's free. I repeat myself but we don't have room.

Our newborn daughter has not even been(slept) in her room yet and there is only the smallest bit of walking room there... now someone offered her a complete bedroom set for my daughter(a dresser drawer, a table/drawer, an endstand and a headboard(maybe bedframe too)).

Then right after we hung up(she was still at work) I looked up and on TV they were showing Hoarders:buried alive on TLC. I laughed.

Anyone else out there a hoarder?

Haha I guess I am, but only for fish gear. Never give anything away even if its an old heater or a junky filter for a 10 gallon.

How can you laugh about somthing like that? It is sad.

No, but my wife is getting to be one. We're slowly adding more and more stuff. That is why I clean the house while she is gone and just throw stuff away, lol. If I say something while she's here, she'll tell me not to. If I do it while she's gone, she never notices. I guess she takes after her mom, she's the same way. I hate to do it, but it's the only way to really keep it under control.

No- when I do feel that I'm starting to get too cluttered like overflowing desk or closet then its time to thin the herd for me... but when it comes to fish stuff I do save useless bits and parts in hopes that I'll run into something that needs those parts again.

We make several trips out to goodwill per year.

This would work for me except she's bringing home big things(mainly furniture).

Made a poll for ya! ;)

I throw everything out...lol

I get in moods. If I haven't used it in six months and its not super expensive, I toss it. I can't stand clutter.

Thanks, I've tried doing them in the past and they never worked out.

Now we should get more input as sometimes people (myself included) will answer a poll without doing a post.

Edit:

If you mean me... I laughed that they were showing it on TV as my wife and I were talking about... remember I consider myself to be one...still.

I would not consider myself a hoarder - I do keep little things that I should probably throw out though! Like little notes from friends in highschool. Or a bus ticket from seeing a friend ages ago.

As for hoarding things - definitely not. I dislike clutter, and even the things I keep, I keep them all in shoe boxes/rubber maid bins.

I find too much clutter can be stressful. The less clutter the more relaxed I feel!

I hope you and your wife get out of this before your furniture takes up your whole home!!! I think hoarding is more common then we know! I wish the both of you the best of luck!
