Question guys...

Just would like to know if you are a fish keeper full of pride or a humble fish keeper? let me lay it out clearer...

Lets say some of ur fish keeping friends come over to see your collections... All the while, the way you set up your tank(s) is doing you fine with no problems at all..but somhow, your friend would make comments like maybe 'oh, you should put this fish in this tank instead or you are running the filtration all wrong, or your tank lightings are not enough etc etc'

Now, are you the type that would feel offended having 'what do you know?!?! my setup is doing me well all the while' kindda attitute and will just ignore on all the comments...your set-up is ur pride and you wont allow anyone to bruise it.

or

You will seek the advise from your friends and try to change things ard etc

lets see what u guys say on this..

If people question my fishkeeping, I let them know I am up Here - and they are down

Here -

heh.

If people offer me valuable advice I will take it on board happily.

We all learn off of others. None of us know everything.

I think so too, just think about the advise/comment given, sometimes its wrong and sometimes it can help you (anyway it helped me a few times).

Often it's worth trying!

i would say
that tank has been fine for x long. why change now?
:P

nyn dd tell me im doing everything wrong, but he pays a guy to do w/c so he knows ****

Honestly, i listen.. and try to absorb whatever comment was given ( if it makes sense, of course). Ive been keeping fish almost as long as i could walk but i am far from all knowing and getting additional tips and advise is valuable to me.

I specially enjoy comments and advice from long time fishkeepers like myself.
Sometimes you also tend to overlook the obvious and its just great to have someone
do a "checklist" for you.

I would listen to what they have to say, you do learn from your own and other peoples mistakes. As said, we are not all perfect, but I would wait until they left and then try it, if it works, thank him, if not, he would never know. :D

I'm open to opinions. Good or bad I can learn from others as well. but so far, they just jaw drop and keep staring into my tank and envy my setup. Mine are simple and easy to manage and that's surprised them.:D

Thanks for all brudder's comments...

what about maybe not to the extent of commenting the aquarium setup issue or filtration issue...maybe it is just about telling you (if you are having multiple tanks at home) that this fish should be placed in that tank and that fish move to another tank to look better etc etc?

Would u stick to ur own initial placings of fishes (according to your taste) or take the risk to move the monster fishes ard to switch tanks?

I will stick to the original stockings, because if I had stocked the tanks that way means I liked/like it that way. I don't like getting influenced into doing things I initially didn't like.
