Thanks F1, i've been testing a lot of tools over the last 2 years or so and found so far this to work best if the sand is fine enough...

What used to take me up to an hour to do took maybe 10 - 15 min with this tool and i managed to get out shells i didnt even know were there...

Although really small bits of shell still need to be picked out by hand if i want to be really fussy ;)

Yea works good for reptiles too, I use a kitty litter scooper to sift thru my beardies substrate, I was gonna buy one of those ^^ but it was like 12-15$ and the plastic scooped was 2$ lol but it also has bigger holes which in your application isn't exactly beneficial..

Yeah same, kitty litter ones i've seen over here have holes a little too big for this kind of job so when i saw this one i jumped since it was under USD $10

Not sure what an ifting tool is, but unfortunately dont think we get that here?

But yeah i quite like the one i got for 3 reasons; 1) its got a deep shovel like design, 2) its holes are just the right size if you have fine sand 3) its stiff enough to keep its shape well...
