Hey there,
Are you moving? Do you have aquariums with some awesome fish that you just can't part with? Well I just moved from SF to Las Vegas, I know it not a cross country move, but for a move with about 10 to 15 hours of driving, this is how I did it!
We bought a big cooler and then cut a piece of trellis down so that it layed out over the cooler. I then got a bunch of fish bags and bagged each fish four times, putting one fish per bag! I then laid a moving blanket down at the bottom of the cooler so that the bags did not hang from the trellis, because I feared the bags would rip from the weight.
I thread each bag through the trellis and then stapled them around the trellis opening to insure the flow of oxygen.
For the big 12-14" fish which were plecos and one dragon goby I just put those in 5 gallon paint buckets with holes poked in the top.
This method worked and all my fish made it, even the saltwater bi-color blenny - SUCCESS & GOOD LUCK!!!!
