I am sick and tired of being attacked while feeding my Texas. He draws blood every time because he grabs whatever he can and shakes his head around. He really wants to kill me. It's even worse now that he's guarding eggs. I just now opened up the canopy and reached in to open the glass top and he attacked the lid and broke the rubber hinge. He has also lost all fear of the net so I can't separate him when I clean or move things around. He also attacks the claw tool I have. Does anyone else have a fish this mean?? If he wasn't so damn cool, he'd be gone by now. I blew up a rubber glove just to demostrate what happens to my hand. He actually took it easy on the glove in comparison... but I won't be filming my actual hand in the tank for obvious reasons.

I already tried the orange rubber gloves made for house cleaning but his teeth go through them. I'm gonna attach a shock collar to him and let him know who's the boss... not really, but I want to.

egg crate is your friend.. i use a piece that is about 8 or 9 inches square.. keeps the red jewels from trying to eat me.. they don't hurt.. but the little bites get annoying after awhile.

i don't have a problem with my big fish though. they know i'm going to be adjusting things in their tank and don't bother me. but i don't put my hands in the tank when i'm feeding them either.

that looks like how my convicts are, but they aren't as big.
