Hey guys , I have 4 vieja argentea in a 160 gallon. They look healthy and I have a strict maintenance routine. They eat most foods I offer but they don't eat aggressively. They kind of just pick at the food without interest. I've tried NLS and hikari gold. Any suggestions on getting them to eat more?

How often are you feeding? What temp you keeping the tank? Maybe decrease frequency of feedings or increase temp a bit. From what ive read argentea are on the warmer spectrum for CA cichlids.

I'm feeding once a day due to the fact they aren't eating that much compared to other cichlid I've kept. I have them around 27c or 80f . I'll try bump the temp up and miss a few feedings. Maybe NLS is the problem hahah

My growing flowerhorn was slow to eat nls at first but since i started offering him nls thera exclusively he has started pounding pellets with enthusiasm. Ive been seeing good results.

Similar experiences with my fish and nls before. But if you can get them to start eating it regularly its a great staple.

I have heard thera was good! Yeah I'm experiencing the same with my fish they eat it but don't love it. But so many people say NLS is great. I will have to persist I decided to get the 1.2kg tub . I appreciate all the advice
