I don't believe this...

Both my Jags jumped the tank...

I heard a crash, I have a piece of weighted pine that sits on the middle of the top 2 lids... I thought the cat knocked another box over and didn't think anything of it until 5 minutes passed and i saw the cat upstairs then i ran down as i knew now what the noise was... My wife was prepared to call 911 as she thought it was something else...

Both of them were on the play carpet a few feet from the tank... One had it's gills moving the other didn't.. I placed both into the tank infront of the output from the filters...about 30 seconds the large male broke free and swam to the bottom of the other side of the tank... the other jag started moving it's gills but after 20 minutes is just motionless on the bottom of the tank... both are acting the same... going sideways a little but the larger one seems to snap out of it faster and he isn't doing it as frequently...

What should i do? I just did a partial water change...

TIA,
Paul

Ya i doubt they will eat, stress coat would work. Id also dim the lights that will also help. If you have two lights on top just have one side on so if they want to hide in the darkness they can. Other then that just hope for the best i guess.

Hopefully everything goes well, keep us updated

At least you got to them on time.. Dim the lights, add some stress zyme and just give them time..

Thanks, I just changed out another 10 gallons of water.. added some stress coat and i have the tank covered with blanket... Both of them are huddled on the bottom corner near the intake which i reduced to 1/2 flow.
I also moved the jet bar for the 2028 a little higher to add more oxygen to the water..

Larger Jag is very dark but the smaller one is very golden and the black is just visable.

Yes tank lights are off.. also took the large pleco out just incase it decided to aggravate the jags.

I wanted to add some "solar salt" but didn't because i didn't want to aggravate them to force them to produce more slim in their weakened condition...

Now lets say they make it tonight.. tomorrow when i change out a little more water would it be ok to add some salt or just stick with the stress coat...

Thanks again,
Paul

I don't think the salt will help unless they had some sort of wound or cut on them. I'd just use the stress coat. Increasing the oxygen was a good choice aswell your doing everything right hopefully they pull through.

so far both are still alive.... color is not even close and i can see where they had damaged themselves..

They both swam to the glass after i had taken the blanket off so that is a good sign...

I'll leave it covered for another day and change some more water tonight...

what a freaking head ache i have...

thanks again,
Paul

sorry to hear this! hopefully they make it thru the night.. something mustve scared them both enough to jump-maybe the pleco brushed against one, he freaked out and caused the other to freak too..

You might not want to do water changes and also not so many frequent water changes. In my opinion its doing nothing for them other than stressing them out more. Best thing to do is bump up the oxygen and turn lights off.
