If you are not going to sell them then a regular fishing license is fine.
Thanks

Dip Netting – Dip nets may be used only when fish are caught first by hook and line or bow and arrow. Dip nets may be used to take baitfish for personal use while sport fishing. This use is limited to dip nets with mesh one inch or smaller.

Subject: About collecting long ear sunfish.

Hello,
I couldn't find any specific regs for collecting fish for a personal aquarium using a dip net approved for collecting bait. I would like to collect a few long ear sunfish, would a standard fishing license be sufficient?
Thank you for your time,
(names have been removed)

I read about some other MFKer's headaches with their states and native fish, so I would like to gloat.

If you have a really huge aquarium the Alligator Gar permit is free, even without a fishing licence! :3
