Armatus - Any Problems w/ Plecos?

I might be getting an L240 (5-6"), but the only place I could put it is in the 75 w/ the 5-6" armatus. Are there any compatibility issues? I'm afraid to put anything in with it as I'm terrified of losing it (talking about the Hydro). BTW, it ate all 3 of the 2.5" bala sharks I got for dithers, LOL. Going to an LFS tomorrow that has 4"ers to see how much they're going for. This damn thing is still skittish far beyond my expectations.

Hey paul. I got some silver dollars for sale the large too. there with my armatus and mine twice the size of yours $10 each PM me if you want me to get pictures. but ya the pleco should be fine just make sure the armatus can't eat it. Not sure if it will cause damage if the armatus swallows the pleco.
 
what species are they? I doubt it'll try to eat a fish about the same size...takes a while to eat 1" goldfish. I'm partial to balas, but they grow so damn slowly.

You have any rays for sale? I'm probably going to get a true Brazil hystrix from Rapps (ordering tomorrow), but if they're astronomical, I'm just going to get a motoro locally.
 
Dont underestimate the hunger of the Armatus. He ate a Pleco 2-3" smaller than he was when my guy was arund 10" (you can just imagine the size of the Pleco as they are girthy and spinny).

Its a risk and G/L big dogg


I would do it as a temp thing for a month or so... Armatus will pass the plecos size in no time (JMO)

well, i'm hoping it grows quickly :D


If and when the arm starts gaining ground on the pleco, I can put it in my mom's tank until I can make something available.

I've been wanting a vampire pleco for quite some time and this is a great size and the best L-number, IMO

BTW, haven't seen the ansorgii eat pellets, but it eats shrimp well. What were you feeding it?
 
I dropped by South Broadway today, and they have a couple of Balas maybe around 7 inches.

how much? was going to buy the 6"er at F-P, but they sold it
 
I didn't see how much, but they usually have pretty decent prices. They have a few tinfoil barbs maybe around 7-8"+ too.
