Alright, so ever since seeing a Armatus on River Monsters, I've been fascinated, doing tons of research and how to care for them, just to find out, its VERY difficult. i also, cannot have them with the tank mates i currently have so in the future, i plan on having it alone in one tank, but i also seen tons and tons of posts about them getting ammonia burn during shipping and torn fins and what not, and also heard they need almost overkill on water flow, im not planning on getting one anytime soon, but once i have a empty tank and ready to start with something new, if anyone has experience with these fish or care details on feeding, growth rate, water flow, filtration, anything, please let me know what i can do to maximize my chances of getting one to me safely and caring for it for its entire life, let me know as specific as possible, Thank you everyone!

There's a sticky on it in the "other characins" section. All the info you need is right there. The only thing I'd challenge is flow. They really don't need as much as we thought and are perfectly content in calm water

They really aren't as hard as you think to care for. I got mine almost a year ago and have had zero problems. Was only 3-4 inches when I got it too.

I got it to convert to non live fairly easy. Used gut loaded smelt-sardines-croaker/gourami and of course occassional FW panfish.

They are very fast growers (2" a month) they don't need current but they definetly do like it.
