Hi guys... just saw two armatus at an LFS very tempted to get them for my tank, however, I've read that they are not easy to keep especially as they get larger. Can anyone share your experiences with these monsters and explain a bit about their care and requirements?

Just keep the tank well oxygenated and CLEAN! I keep mine at a temp of about 85f and the tank is filtered with a resun xtreme and 2x powerheads running some hydrosponges! These are awesome fish to have!

considering the rarity of true armatus, I doubt that's what they were. They were probably scombs or redtails. Redtails are much hardier.

Location-Singapore.

Maybe more common over there? I could definetly be wrong. I don't get out of the corn much.

Oh, I didn't see that. :grinno: Then I'd suggest buying a huge tank and getting as many as possible. They're pretty hardy fish.
