Anybody have any issues with there Payara choking on something to big to take down.

I threw in a Tilapia fillet that was a little to big.

My Armatus finally swallowed the fish but I was worried about him thrashing around and for while he spit it out then swallowed it a few times.

i never had my armatus choke but i did have it try to eat something too big. When my armatus was around 6 inches, I had terrible choices for fillet sizes. I put in some talapia chunks that were definately too big to eat. My armatus did get the chunk and struggled to fit it in it's mouth. After a minute or so my swimming around with the large chunk, it just gave up and spit it out.

Of course if you saw that River monster episode where that huge armatus downed another armatus 2/3 of its size.....

This other video I saw was crazy also...

I wanted to also mention that after my Armatus choked down that Tilapia Fillet he has stopped eating going on the 5 day mark.

He has not lost any teeth.

my armatus once stopped eating for more than a month. I think it had something to do with catfish fillets stuffed with pellets.
