I have a possible opportunity to get the ultimate Clown Knife close to my house 2 foot long. Along with some really big Gulper cats!

I am getting ready to add my Armatus this weekend to my 720.

Armatus is close to 2 foot.

Is it worth a try to introduce them all together with some drift wood on either side of the tank along with some hanging vines.

I always wanted a big clown knife and its an unreal deal for one of the coolest one I ever seen.

My concerns would be Clown and Armatus get territorial and my other concern is Gulpers night time activity will bother Armatus.

Any advice from the legend MFKers on here would be appreciated.

i'm definitely not one of those legendary MFKers but you can give it a go with the CL and the armatus. My big concern is that those two might try to fight each other. on the other hand, the tank is definately big enough to fit the two of them plus more possible tankmates. The armatus has been solo for so long so I IDK the longterm outcome of the cohabs. just make sure you have a plan B. A two foot armatus is definitely fearsome and it could take down a fish the same size as it. The CL are also quite feisty fish and can have an attitude.

I have no legit info for you about the gulper cats. All I know is that they have a huge mouth! lol. These bad boys can definately eat a fish that is 3/4 its size. not sure but the gulper might try to take down the armatus. that seems to be a complete longshot though. I don't think these cats get to anywhere close to 2 feet so it probably won't be a major problem.

Just my opinion but I think you should add some beastly bottom dwellers for your 720 gallon tank. A few large hoplias species, lower jaw bichirs and perhaps a goonch catfish would look phenomenal!
Take advantage on the tanksize!

Your armatus may become a nice meal for the gulper

Gulpers don't get larger enough to eat a 2 foot fish so that should be fine. My experience with CL is that they generally get along with large tank mates but I've seen them attack bottom dwellers at night.

Watch the knife and have a seperate tank ready for it. I would not even attempt to put a divider in between a couple angry 2' fish.

I've never really trusted knives but got another based on everyone's "good" experiences with them. It currently has gashes on its face which I suspect came from being in a wolves mouth. My wolves aren't aggressive. That knife did something to earn those marks.

It may work fine, just use caution and watch closely....

My royal killed my 9-10 inch armatus, royal was only 2or3 inches bigger. I love gulpers but I would keep him something not as valuable as your armatus but that's just me

i would omit the gulpers and add an apex bottom dwelling fish like an aimara or a curupira.
