Armatus dead at 29 Inches

I got up this morning to feed the fish and found my Armatus "Nelson" dead. So, I took him out of the aquarium to get an official measurement of him and he was 29 inches.

I'm not sure why he died but I think it was stress. I few weeks back the Aimara put a deep gash in his side. He stopped eating and starting getting these patches of mucus and his eyes clouded up. He actually looked like he was getting better. Eyes cleared wound healed but patches of mucus covering his body got worse.

Anyway, I probably pushed my luck by keeping them together for too long.

How long have you had him, and how big was he when you first got him?

Tough loss,mine showed those same symptoms a few days after it jumped out of the tank and fell on the floor.

Wow sorry to year! You were the inspiration! Mine kicked the bucket at 24" and its crazy how huge and heavy they are out of the water.
Are you getting another? they are amazing fish!

Mine too and it felt like it was about five pounds.

Sorry for your loss buddy. I've watched your youtube videos a thousand times and you inspired me to get the 2 that I'm growing out right now.
