I have a predator growout right now its my 5-6inch armatus.two 5.5" goonch cats and a 8-9" endli bichir. I noticed a chunk out of the bottom part of my armatus rear tail fin gone the other day.like bit. Last night i turned lights out and watched the goonch seem to stay in place in front of powerheard but bichir moves around.and i saw him in the area of the armatus.today i notice his fins alittle more frayed. Could it be the bichir?

It honestly could be either of them. I've seen my HLG go after 1 of my scombs before if they got close enough to it and unless you keep the bichir well fed, they'll go after anything they think they could eat.

yea thing is the bichir is a pig, when i try to feed the goonch he goes over lays on top of them so he can get the food. and he seems to hover around the armatus at night where as the 2 goonch stay by each other in front of power head

Are you able to move the bichir to another tank? I just noticed the size difference. As you already know, an 8-9" endli is much beefier than a 5-6" armatus so it can definitely believe that its large enough to scarf down the armatus

yea i just put him in a 29 i have as a spare, it will have to do, not willing to lose the armatus

I know how you feel. I have 2 armatus about a foot and they're with a bunch of bichirs that range from 10-17".

I know you have the mysterious goonch that might be a new species but what's your other one?
