What exactly is this armatus? i can't find any info by googling it. Is that a slang name? Will you tell me some info about it? Where are they from, size, and diet?

Hydrolycus Armatus is it's scientific name. it's a payara, a type of characin. there are several type of payara, the most common being scombs and then red-tail payara. hence in order to simplify and clear things up we simply say it's scientific name. eg:scombs=scombs, red-tail payara=tatuia/tat, armatus=armatus

they're from veinezuala if im not wrong. they get to 2'+ in the aquarium but way larger in the wild. diet is predatory
