Armatus Growth

Hi guys ,
I m intrested to buy an Armatus 30cm. What age this fish is? I mean what its the grow rate. When the fish ll reveal his big teeth?

The armatus is the fastest growing fish that I have ever had the pleasure of keeping,a mere two or three inch specimen could easily reach and surpass that size within a year under good conditions.It should also already have a pair of impressive looking fangs at that size as well.

Wooa how can i train this fella to eat tilapia mussels and prawns? Since pellets are extremly hard.. and no live food? Actually to cut the live food

Simply discontinue offering it any live foods and start tossing in tilapia strips.It will eventually take them.

Also be sure to add tannins to the water and realize this fish needs a huge tank, he should have a nice set of fangs, you'll see them when he eats

why tannins ? It likes the "brown" water or is beneficial for its skin? I ll have a 600g with some characins as well

Tannins are beneficial for many fish, and required for quite a few, they help booster the immune system and keep fungal infections away, especially in hard water

They grow very fast and even faster on live foods...i got a pr once from 2" to 8/9 inchs in 6 mnths. Once i got them on dead foods it took an add 3 mnthz to get to 10 and 12".
