Let me start by thanking the guys at River Wonders. There was confusion the whole way, but it all came out good in the end. Here's how my day went so far. At 1:30am I got the call from SouthWest saying my package had arrived.(I have a good relationship with those guys over there) By 2am I was ou tthe door crusing to Midway. Took about 1 hour in the storms.... Picked the package up and opened it right away. Aramtus was there lookin real good!. Got home around 4am and acclimated him. Left for work at 5am. On my way home I stopped at a friends place who has a tank of rosies for feeders, q-t'd and feed well. Got home about 2 pm and dropped the feeders in. Within about 2 minutes the Armatus had hit and consumed one. So happy that he ate the first day.

Here are some pics, he is a bit skinny, and the pics are right up there with my usual standards, but hell at least I got some!

Second pic shows some red in his tail. Looks like a bit of an irritated spot Maybe some damage not fully healed or something, appears to be blood beneath the surface.

Thanks,
Chris

Need brighter pix.

Congrats my friend! You just got one of the most exciting fish in the tropical fish hobby! Can you get some better pics so that we all can see how good he really looks.:D

Awesome pick up man. Once he is 8-10" you will really realize what a beast of a fish armatus are. If I were you I would be worried about the ray pinning him at night time. Just something to keep in mind.

How big is it? My lil feller was a bit shy of 3 inches......

I'm gonna go ahead and throw it out there......since the red in his tail matches the adipose fin it must be a red tail Tat and NOT an Armatus.....;)

X2 on the ray.....I lost my biggest Tat to a Motoro. The ray was about 7 inches across and the Tat was 5 inches long. Thought they'de be fine together.....I was sadly mistaken.

What I have heard from most of the people who got hem from RW is they are around the 3" mark. I am now feeding my armatus large feeders. 2-3". Sharing the tank with the armatus are two ray pups. I have watched both the rays 5-6" disk take down large (3") feeders which is why I expressed concern.

Better not be a red-tail..........

Kidding man......Doesn't look like a Tat to me.

Move it away from the ray yet?
