Can you guys please help me get my armatus off live feeders. He is currently around 12 to 14 inches already. Is it possible to train him to take market shrimp? His tankmate is a VATF of the same size.

Try the fishing line method....I use frozen silversides. Loop line around the feeders tail and go fishing! Dangle and move the thawed frozen fish around until your armatus strikes. Might work with shrimp but never tried. Once the fish sees the silversides as food they will hit it as it drifts down no problem. My Tat will take silversides, krill and the occasional pellet!
wow, it's gonna be hard to get them off live at that size, good luck. what have you tried already?

Try fresh shrimp, smelt or tilapia dropped into to some current. You can try alterantign live feeder w dead feeders and progressivle change to dead feeder alternated w shrimp or smelt. If that fails try P Bass- thats what mine eats if I forget to feed him....lol [YT]_DpKK2xVByU[/YT]
