Armatus on pellets

After talking to people and reading up on them I wasn't looking forward to pellet training my new armatus. But after 4 days my armatus is pellet trained. What a relief. Definitely helped that I had a school of tinfoil barbs but I think my Senegal bichir was the one that got my armatus to eat. When the bichir would go after the food sticks the armatus kept watching until he went up and took a pellet. So far he''ll eat the food sticks and once in awhile will take a massivore. I'll wait til he gets bigger to try to add tilapia to his diet.

Good to hear it was an easy break. 4 days isn't bad at all. Plus I see a delhezi photobomb there lol.

Awesome. My Florida was on fish and shrimp for long. Recently I noticed that its chewing a pellet disk. This was a relief. I got confirmation twice when I throw the hikari carnivore. Sweet to see its eating pellet now

I was worried it was gonna be 2 weeks or more. Glad my guy isn't as stubborn. Now just waiting for him to start eating aggressively. He still watches the pellets and goes back and forth before taking it. I blame the tinfoil barbs for that lol. Since I got them they haven't gone to the surface for food.

These predatory fish are thinkers and learns from others. Take time but eventually they coke around and start taking pellets like others

nice when i had my army. i got it to eat food sticks. till it got bigger. did not care for them...

That's how my jardini is now. Only wants meat or live. Gotta get it back on pellets. My armatus is only 6" so it's nice that it's on pellets. Can't wait til it gets to 10".

My armatus has grown a 1" since I got him a few weeks ago. Glad that it was eating fast. Only lost 1 tinfoil barb during the training. Took 4 days to eat pellets but on day 3 the 6" armatus snatched a 3" tinfoil barb and tried to eat but the barb was too big. can't wait til this guy gets around 10".

That's awesome, I have 3 three Armatus, 2 are 7" and the other is about 4". I'm currently looking for some tinfoil barbs so that I can get them off of live.
