Armatus payara attack on henlei !

Well it happened finally !! The almost 30" monster finally has done damage to a ray. It's hard to get a photo because they are in my pond.
I noticed a 1" bloody slash across the female henlei back after a feeding on the weekend. He's never shown aggression to any of these rays I think this was a feeding accident. I let him starve to long I think. I dropped a few smelts in and one landed on the ray . The armatus took a swipe at the smelt on her back and sliced her!
The hen is fine Lesson learned , I'll try and post pics

My armatus used to bite my leos alot during feeding but i figured he would never be able to pierce an organ or anything. It would just be disk wounds which were nothing compared to breeding wounds

So the armatus is doing good? We need some updates on this bad boy!

He was going back and fourth health wise?? He's great now I think he's real sensitive towards water conditions changing like it has been here for a whe bouncing all over.

And yah just surface wound like you say trev , the only way he will pierce an organ is a open water mid level attack. Rays will pretty much be in one place during feeds so I never worry about that . I do worry one day a mom will birth at mid level and the payara will nail it
