armatus scomb or tat?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
damn...i was picking from the tank and all the armatus looking ones with spots were infested with ich so i went for the guys who didnt have as bad a case of ich...but i guess i choice wrong...i had a hunch they were scombs

Watch for colour change on the tail and apidose fin, and if it gains a black spot or blotch. If the tail and apidose change colour its a tat.

That is a scomb. There were a few in Jake's batch from his second group of pictures that I think were scombs as well. Armatus and tatauaia have spots when little, scomberoides and wallacei don't.

damn...all the ones with spots that were still left over were covered in ich..so i decided against them

depending how severe the case was it may have been treatable. But i wouldnt have risked it either, just buying and transfering it with stress could kill it at that size.
