seems armatus has faded away recently.... Anybody still have any they have grown out? Are they all dead? anybody having any luck?
anyone got any 18" +???

They are out of season right now. I know of some vendors who have aready said they are waiting to place an order once the season starts and they are available.

Keep are you looking to add an armatus to that already sweet tank?

From when I was looking for one, they are out of season until around spring. You should see a good bit more of them coming in then.

Not sure why members with the larger ones aren't posting pics of them more often though, I sure wish they would :)

I know it's not season...yet. Looking to see if anybody has figured out how to keep them yet.
Wanting to see some of the old school guys that had bigger armatus still have them.

I love armatus, but they seem to die before hitting 18-20".

Armatus are fine to keep, its the scombs that tend to die off in captivity. Armatus are very hardy, but most people cannot meet the requirements for this fish as they require specialized setups thus causing them to die. This is one species of fish that needs to have their tank suited to their needs specifically in order to thrive.

haha! armatus aren't as common as scombs you know! they don't pop up every season. Buying an armatus at 18 inches is even more rare! And pricey. Last year was the first year where armatus finally got a bit mainstream in Canada. Wait until the spring and new batches of smaller armatus are due in the states for sure already know a couple of places.

In my recollection armatus die at either 8 to 10 inches or they grow into monsters.
