I want to add a fish that will clean up the mess from a big strike of Tilapia stuffed with Hikari pellets.

Anybody ever add a giant Rapheal Cat or does anybody have any suggestions? I am scared at night he decides to eat him and it chokes him.

I was thinking a few Chaca Chaca cats since they don't move around much.

I was thinking of tank mates?

My dream is to have 3 Armatus cruising?

I though I can add a half dozen giant Leaf Fish?

Any suggestions I would love to hear.

Don't want my Armatus to choke, don't want him to be bothered at night, don't want any fish messing with him for any reason.

Half dozen Chaca Chaca cats.

I had a spoted Ralph with mine but both the same size. You could try a ripsaw cat, they won't pick on the armatus and they are too big and fat to be eatend. Plus the will be less likly to get hurt if the armatus starts beating on him.

Juruense or tigrinus catfish are my top picks. Not too big to swallow, grows fairly fast, and are mellow.

my tig try's to eat everything that moves and are aggressive,I would worry about the tig going after the armatus. They also won't really pick up small chunks that are dropped, plus the armatus might beat on him. But I could be wrong, I still have the tank divided between my armatus and tig, kinda scared to try ha

When you say giant Raphael do you mean a Megaladoras Irwini?

Platydoras armatulus I have a huge one in with my BGK that's 6"+ was thinking he would do a great job eating left overs. I am just scared that my Armatus can get excited and grabs him and try and eat him and the Raphael thrashes those spikes.

hmm i've honestly only seen a someone keep payara with jurunese in person. And I've seen armatus with tigs in videos. Maybe they need to be simalar size. I can't picture an armatus harassing the cat but a large catfish can always pose a problem.

What about a huge Royal Blue Eyed Plecostomus. I have always loved those guys. Do they eat hikari pellets and would be suitable tank mates?

I see the legend on here with 3 Armatus. So I do have hope to have a few of them in my tank. But from what I have seen of my Armatus he is a bold beast that does not tolerate any living creature. Hopefully he will change with more room to swim next week.

keeping multiple armatus is definately risky. Sure it could work for a short period of time but the majority of the outcomes result in aggression and serious injuries. Many of them end up with damaged eyes and such. The "dream" combos you find on youtube where people keep 3+ monster armatus are extremely rare. It doesn't usually work. Dithers can be very important.

I hear you bro after that crazy videos from River Monsters of the Armatus eating another one 2/3 thirds his size and eating another one eating a PBass. Also my Armatus seems to relax at night in his calm spot so a catfish cruising around at night like a giant Gulper or even Rapheals could bother him.

I was wonder about a dozen giant leaf fish. They seem to not move much and can blend in with Anubias and cattappa leaves maybe he wont notice them and I can have a school of them living with him?
