Armored cat?

any one know alot about these??

my dad has 2 6" in his office at work and hes bringing one home for me.
he told be one day that his bass had the whole cat in his mouth and had to pull it out

but like what do these eat and anything else u know about them will help

Just noted that you're in FL. There's a good chance you're dealing with Hoplosternum littorale, the brown hoplo or armored catfish. It's an invasive/introduced species in FL. Does it look like this?:

Nope from what he tells me its more brown and has like plates on it.
but he gets home at 5ish so ill post a pic then

the fish that oddball posted is brown with large plates all over it's entire body. It is just a low quality pic. I wouldn't be suprised if that is the fish you are getting.

Does it resemble this? (not the best pics)

Platydoras costatus / Striped Raphael Catfish avgs. about 20/25cm. scavenger so all edibles are cool. will trap & swallow some small fish.
