Armoured Catfish info.....

I just got one if these guys..........(pic NOT mine).......

and i looked omline for a profile on them but i always got pictures of other "armoured" cats without spots.!!!! and the one that i got has stripes like the ones in the pic.

so i just want to know some general things... Max size???...Food....Behavior??

according to my book, Atlas of Freshwater & Marine Catfishes, This is what you need to know
1. Its a Hoplosternum thoracatum.
2. Its found from Panama to Paraguay.
3. Widely varies in color.
4. Full grown @ 16cm.
5. Aquarium care is the same as all in Callichthyidae family.

ive kept 1 of them but sadly...... it died at 4"....... i bought it as a cory in the lsf
