im in fort jackson south carolina right now to train to kill zombies for 2012. thats how serious i am. im currently on a phone to browse about but that will be taken away from me soon. my spelling and grammar and junk might be more off than usual.
since christmas is coming soon, i get to do what i want for about 2 weeks. i dont think i want to go back home. im thinking about staying in south carolina near the fort. what on earth is there to do around here?

this post is jumbled like heck but so what.
nov 21- left philly and went to harrisburg pa to do some final paper work. sgts are not mean there as they are not there to be mean. thats a later process. all we did that day was answer a few questions and off to chow. food was actually pretty good. at 1200 ish we had sausage on a bun with some fries. after eatting, we had nothing to do so we watch transformers 3. i already seen it so i tried to go to sleep. the sgts didnt like that. 75% into the movie it had to be stopped as we were being spoken to by a super duper high ranking officer. we then at dinner at around 5
ps- i will use this thread to jot down notes as i do not have paper and pencil. i aint buying that. i would like to remember and to show and tell my story. i just might forget the small things here and there. also please ask any questions and i will try to answer when i can.

nov 21- left philly and went to harrisburg pa to do some final paper work. sgts are not mean there as they are not there to be mean. thats a later process. all we did that day was answer a few questions and off to chow. the eatting area was a diner type. square tables with salt and pepper shakers napkin dispenser the whole junk in the trunk. food was actually pretty good. at 1200 ish we had sausage on a bun with some fries. after eatting, got back on the van and made a pit stop before heading back to the office. i opened the door when i wasnt suppose to. i made myself look like a d. why did i have to sit in the front? that would have happened to any of the soldiers. we got back to the office and we had nothing to do so we watch transformers 3. i already seen it so i tried to go to sleep. the sgts didnt like that. 75% into the movie it had to be stopped as we were being spoken to by a super duper high ranking officer. we then at dinner at around 1700. i was surprised that we didnt get the same food from earlier. there was actually variety. we had pork chops plus side. it taasted pretty decent but was on the hard side. we made fun of how tender it was. got back onto the van to head to the barracks to get sleep but we had to make another pit stop, where i opened the door again making myself look like a d two times in a row doing the same mistake the same day. the sgt told me i was not to sit in the front anymore in a joking manner. (yes sgt). we then got to the barracks at 1800. i tried to go to limmediately sleep even thouhg i was tired but couldnt. we had to wake up at 0600 next day.
ps- i will use this thread to jot down notes as i do not have paper and pencil. i aint buying that. i would like to remember every little detail for personal reasons and do not mind to show and tell my story. i just might forget the small things here and there. also please ask any questions and i will try to answer when i can.

nov 22- everyone got ready on time and when we the guys got on the van to head to breakfast, i sat in the very back as far away from the door as possible. the sgt even knew i would. the van door is a curse. breakfast was around 0730 and had eggs pancakes and some stuff i already forgot. when we were finished we headed to the office where the sgts told us to clean the entire place. i was mainly a expert window cleaner that day. yea its becuase they can do that to us. once the place was shiney we had to go to the airport. that was aroound 0900. they handed us our papers and air plane tickets and stuff. my flight back to philly was sceduled for 4pm ish. it was only around 10am when we got to the harrisburg airport. luckyily they had openings to a much earlier flight where all the philly people needed. who wants to wait in an airport for that long? we didnt have to wait that much at all. we didnt even get peanuts on the flight. what gives? i dont care if it took 30 or so minutes. i want my airplane peanuts. now in philly airport at around 11am. we had to wait til 8pm for our flight to columbia sc. we were given checks that could only be used once. it was for 23 bucks and if you bought a candy bar and left. you just done screewed yourslef. you dont get changeback or nothing. we had a party of 3 and decided to use 2 checks to cover us 3. we planned to use my check for later. the food sucked that we bought. it was nasty turkey melts at some store inside the port. we were ordered not to leave the port for any reason what so ever due to flights amking eratic changes. fastforward to the second meal time. i think the store was called euno or something like that. they had good tasting food and service. we should have wasted the first 2 checks with them. we then were place on a 6pm flight but that got slightly delayed due to the weahter. once on the plane and at columbia i almost got lost as i was in the very nack of the plane. i waas suppose to follow the other s but they walked way to fast and i had no idea where to go now. luckily they were found at the bath room. we then were all met by a drill sgt to sign in at the airport. we waited in a little area welcoming fututre soldiers. i have a picture of that and videos. that has to come later as i cnnot upload them yet. the male to female ratio was around 6 to 1 in our group. we all headed to the bus in marching staus from the airport. i dont have video of that but wish i did have my camera out. the bus ride to fort jackson was an hour or so maybe. it was then 10pm and we had aton of stuff to do on sleepy eys and an empty stomach. the look on the female soliderswere very depressing. they looked like they were dying.

i choose to break it down from day to day as it take forever on aphone to type all of this plus the chance of deleting all of what i wrote down to a minimum.
nov 23- continuing from the follwing endl
ess night at reception. we were still in dying phase when we recieved out laundry bag full of junk. that took around an hour or more for all of us. again as more time went by from waiting we had to wait some more. we could not sleep as it is not allowed. to pass time we read our smart books about the soldier life. trying to remember the soldiers creed and army values. no one wanted to do that. all we care for was sleep. i even volunteered to throw all these boxes away. once that was done we had to wait again til we had to see what ur feet types where. all our bare smelly foots were on the same platform. we ended day 0 at 3am. we had to wake up at 4am. wowozer that was nice. literally no one slept. it takes forever when there is a millon people and a not so large bathroom. day 1 reception 0430. we dress in our clothing that was in the army bag. it was pt clothes not the acus. we formed up in the raining dark cold morning. it was hectic as no one knew what they were doing. the drill sgt made us wait in the rain. we started to march in the rain and we headed to the chow hall. the drill sgt made us stand still for quite some time again. it started to rain harder and harder. i think this would have been great footage but that was impossible to take. the army pt jacket did a great job of taking care of the rain. its water proof and was tested to prove that. not saying thats why the drill sgt made us do that to prove that. our heads were soaked and legs feet. we finally made it into the chow hall to eat a very minimal amount of food. they give you near nothing to eat it but it doesnt taste bad at all. give me more. once done eatting, we waited to get our tuburculosis shot or somthing. waiting takes up a ton of time and we cannot sleep or anything. remeber this is from have 0 sleep still. while waiting in the chhurch type area , i had to close my eyes evey 30 seconds and fall asleep for 5 seconds only to be woken up by my falleing body. this kept repeating and repeating. fast forward. we got 1 shot so far. we waited to get hair cuts. if you had no hair you still had to pay for the haircut. waited to go to chow. waited to get eyes hearing and blood work done. waited for chow and then it was time to sleep. i was awake for about 40 hours or so. went to sleep finally to prepare for another terrible day.

_note_
i forgot to say during day 0 at reception, nov 22-23 we were briefed and had to dump out all of our persoanl belongings on the ground where we had to throw away and type of (contraband). that was done near the beginning. i believe we had out first meal at 1am or so.

I'm guessing you're from some type of armed forces background xD

nov22-23- iforgot to add that we recieved our boots at the end of the beginning of the 23 before sleep. we had to wake up at 0600 for day 2. recived aboutb 4 hours total of sleep maybe. that was paradise. so little sleep felt so good. dont take anything for granted people. woke at 0600 to form up outside. it wasnt raining or anthing. great start. all we did was eat breakfast and then we we back into the barracks to do anything you wanted. i chosed to nap until we had to form up and hour or 2 later. it was thanksgiving and we had nothing to do that day. our drill sgt made us pick up dead leaves off the court yard premises type thing. hundreds of people using there dam hands to pick up leaves. they didnt have enough rakes so it was our stupid hands that turned into little rakes. it took about 1 to 2 hours before we were called to form up for chow. we had thanksgiving meal or utrkeu and pies and other good junk. this may sound vulgur but this was the first time they gave enough food were people started to poop. the bathrooms were full of simultaneous droppings. plop plop plop. after lunch we had nothing else to do again so it was back to the barracks. i then decided to sleep again til dinner. again summon outside to form up to go the dinner. same type of thanksgiving food this time same results from earlier. i immediatly went to sleep again. just to be waken by amillion loud people no more then 2 hours later. since i had my nap earlier everone else is asleep just like in the first post. the fire patrol people even asked why i was awake. now i ahave to wait till 0430 today to start another round of bologna. today is def a work day. thats all i have so far.

Good luck and, will you be joining the USO?

yes i am. the army national guard.

and krich- i have to deal with things one at a time for now. my focus is with the guard til contract ends.

also today is the first time i was dealt with individually with a drill sgt or sgt. it actually felt good. ill update todays agenda later when im done packing all the junk they gave me.

nov-23 0100. the fire patrol people think im crazy for staying up late as we need to wake up in just afew hours at 0400. today my company was last or near last to be able to enter the chow hall. we waitied about 2 solid hours in the cold just to still be waiting in line. we were about minutes away before we got our trays. thats why the drill sgts only let us get about 5 minutes to eat. if we took our time the next company would never eat. the chow hall cannot handle thosuands of people. it seems to be able to hold 300 or so maybe at a time. barely got any food this time. the smallest portion of eggs and bacon. enough to feed a small child maybe. waiting to eat to finished eatting took about 230 to 3 hours total. i found out we take turns waiting forever and or eatting early. just to be fair i guess. we all then went into the chapel to wait to get our medical shots. i ended up getting 4 shots that day. i didnt recieve the infamous peanut butter shot. which is a thick viscousity fluid that stays the size of a baseball lump on your butt. lucky me i guess. some of the people injecting you dont seem to care. the mail needle stabbers really got my arm leaking some blood. thanks jerks. afterwards we finally received our acu army combat uniforms and other gear. we then got a pictures taken for the yearbook or something. i thought it was for our military id. we did paper work to setup financial info and life insurance and all that. this time we then were taken another photo but i had on my eye protection i eas yelled at by a drill sgt. he said why the hell do you have that poop on you head. i took it off with the speed of lightng.

Whats your MOS-to-be, brother?
