Well my 12 inch silver didn't eat this morning. When I got home from work no luck getting him to eat again. But I noticed he has got some eye issues. It looks like he might have rubbed them on something. He is breathing heavy with his mouth open and puffing out his gills buy they are not discounted or curled out . Any idea what it could be . He also has his weekly treat of small crickets last night could that have something to do with it?

Check your water parameters. When was last water change? what is temp? What is diet besides crickets? any other tankmates?

Parameters are normal just a little nitrate . Ph is 6.8.water change was done yesterday and today when I seen him breathing hard . Just a 25 percent Change temp is 80 I went to the petstore to get coppersafe and aquarium salt now I'm back home and his eyes are kinda sunken in his head. No tankmates. He eat sera arowana pellets and only crickets once a week

Well after a few hours a narrowed it down to a fungus I think. He bobbed into the bubbled and the bubbles allowed me to see something on his body. Dont even know if getting fungus meds will help now but Im got to try

Well after my last post i checked on him and he was dead. So weird how just one day he went from eating good and being healthy to dead.are arowanas known to just go like that?

Sorry for your loss man. I have seen an aro catch finrot and in 2days, he was gone' but that one was less than 4 inches. They are very hardy after that size. Yours being a foot; should have survived . must have been a nasty fungus.

Clean out the tank and start a fresh.
