Hey guys,

I just noticed today when I got home I walked by my aros tank and hes broken one side of his jaw right at the tip, hes still active as ever and eating, but what should I do? I read the post on MFK about people who have had this same problem and from the pictures on the one post my guys not as bad.... his right side the bone isnt attached at the tip, he still eating his pellets but he has a bit of trouble closing his jaw sometimes and a few pellets float back out of his mouth :(

should I wait and see how he does...
sedate him a stitch it back together so it heals back together?...

thanks Ty

leave him be. if you start pretending you're a vet, odds are it might gobadly...

it is not a life threatening situation....

thanks guys, hes still doin the same today, swimming normally eating etc should I continue to feed him regularly? he has tank mates though and trying to feed them and him not gobbling it up is impossible. I dont know how it happened im guessing something spoked him or he ran into the side of the tank or one of the rocks in the tank... hes already broken off both his barbels there just little 1/4 stubs now.... do you think the bone will re attach it self? his right side jaw bone is where its broken, right at the tip of his jaw his chin so to speak, its kind of flopping a little and id hate for him to catch it on something :(

I do not believe that the bone will glue back.

It will find a way to mend and he will get used to live with it, imho.

As long as it is acting normally and willing to feed, he is okay. You'll just have to find a away to ensure it gets its food.
