I don't know if this is going to work or not, because this poll is aimed only at people that have owned aros that have died. But....I would like to know just how common it is for aros to jump to their death versus death by disease or natural causes. So if you've had an aro die on you, please vote and hopefully there will be enough people to get a good estimate.

Well I'll start, only have lost one aro, a 9" black. He managed to escape from what I though was a very well sealed tank.

People should list the size and type of arowanas also. I think you'll see a trend towards larger silver aro jumping, alot of young silvers seem to die as a result of tankmate beatings or just for unknown reasons.

Lost one 3" silver. Got beat to death by his other 2 brothers.

Went on vacation. Added 30 goldfish to tank. Came home to dead aro and problem of trying to remove my foot from my bum. Nowadays, dry food only.

I lost a nice 20" pink asian aro. an employee changed about 1/3 water then fed feeders. The fish all barfed them up over nght. He was the only one that died.

Lost a 6 inch aro due to jumping. One threw a hole, I thought unjumpable.

when i first got in the hobby i bought 4, 3 died cuz i didnt know they needed a heater when tiny, then 2 jumped out

3" black died due to filter crash (i learned some valuable information on keeping baby South Americans)
7" silver died due to aggression (being beat up by 4" 4-lined pim)
7" silver died due to filter crash (long story, but it involves an LFS and bad advice, lol) - this was probalby almost 8 years ago when I didn't know much. **NOTE** This fish did jump out of the tank, but it was saved and did not die from it.

My 1st Aro.. A Jardini jumped out of the tank...

The second was a silver that got ripped to shreds by my 2 gars..(i did'nt know much about gars at that time..)
