Aro feeding suggestions

Hey guys I just picked up a 16 inch silver Aro. I got him off a guy who had just him in a 55 gallon tank. I put him in my 180 with other SA/CA cichlids. The previous guy fed him feeders and pellets. I am looking for some of the Aro experts advice about what to feed him. I was looking to possibly set up some kind of rotating schedule for him. I want to stay away from the feeder fish cause I have never fed my fish live fish and dont really want to start now.

I am thinking pellets, large krill, crickets, and mostly likely some type of worm(i know no meal worms cause of the aros having trouble digesting them)
I have tried raw chicken and he seemed to love it. Might also try some pieces of cod break them up and through it in there.

I would avoid any sort of meat based proteins...like the chicken. Fish in general are not really capable of breaking it down.

Other than that, the diet you mention will work fine. You can also use shrimp...just make sure it's the raw, uncooked shrimp. Just thaw it out, remove any sharp parts (like tail and legs), soak them in an enriched vitamin formula and then feed.

I have a staple diet that I feed all of my aros, but I always throw in little surprises now and then for them...like different fillets of fish, insects, and worms.
