I have now had my tank going for a few months now. Here is the stock list
180 Gallon
2 Emperor 400's
2 Ehiem Pro 3's with inline heaters on each one at 78 the other at 80
1 Peacock bass 9"
1 Lima Shovel Nose 14"
1 Florida Gar 10"
2 Silver Aros 9" and 10"
now, I am noticing the aros don't really like each other very much. From time to time I see them nipping at each other. A few weeks ago, the smaller one wasn't doing too good. His fins were getting severely nipped, and spending a lot of time near the bottom of the tank. Well, as life would have it, he has come back and is seemingly stronger then ever. He is now the aggressor and goes after the bigger one, whose fins are getting chewed down. The gar keeps to himself and the bass is only aggressive when I come near the tank in anticipation of feedings.
What is the recommended course of action? Dump one of the aros? I love the look of having two beautiful aros, and I have a tank that has been delayed several times now which is pissing me off to no end, but I should have a 400 gallon tank within the month. Should I just let them ride it out? Or should one be removed. It is all about the fish, if I have to part with one to save it's life, then so be it. I wouldn't want them in harms way... All fish eat fine, and are hungry, no problems there. They swim around nicely, it just seems every once in a while they get nippy with one another and splash around a bit.
