I was thinking about getting a 265g tank and I was wondering what type of aros i could put in there for life.

it could be 8'*3*2, 5.5*3*3 or 12*2*2.. you could house any monster in them( except for the 5.5*3*3).. but if you want a comm of monsters, better have the a tank with longer width..

it is probly the perfecto 265 which is 7x2x2.5...

if its 7'x2'x3' then, there won't be enough room for a larger arowana to turn around.

2' if a good amount of space to turn.

If the tank is 7' long and 30" wide you'll be able to house a silver or black for a very long time. Once the aro is 33 plus inches long you'll have to make a decision on what is right for the fish. An austailian aro could stay in that size tank for life. I would not recommend the same if the tank is only 24" wide.

^ bollocks.. i would say 2' is the minimum width required for an aro or possibly two.

Heck a silver aro can turn in about a third of there body length. So a 3 foot silver only needs a 12" tank, right?:screwy:

Minimun width of the tank should be a least equal to the length of the aro. it's not just about turning around.
