so today i was doing a water change and took both the lids off my tank.
i turn around to get my vacum hose and i hear a big splash. i turn around and see my aro jumped out like a dolphin. lol. my aro is about 16 inches. he looks even bigger out of the water. it is nearly impossible to pick him off the ground with my bare hands. only way i caught him is because he got wedged between my tank stand and some misc. stuff. anyone tried catching their aro off the ground with their hands?
 
Hope he is doing alright. No I have never had to pick one up with my hands and I hope I never have to do that with mine.
 
yeah its ok now. at first when i threw him in, which i had to because its so slippery holding him, he just sat motionless at the bottom til i touched him. now he's doing fine

I'm sure he wasn't expecting the outside of the tank to be any different than the inside...

I am glad you were right there to catch your fishes mistake.

I keep a clean cotton dinner napkin, ready to dip into the tank water, to pick up any jumpers that I might have to deal with when I'v got the lid off...:thumbsup:

my aro scared the crap out of me the first day while drip acclimating him he jump out of the bowl

haha good job on saving the aro! :P its bigger out of water eh? i know it happened to me before too when it was a lil smaller say 6-7 inch while cleaning the tank its getting scared of my hands motion scrubbing the tank... made the S shape then boom! jumped in from of me! lol it was so high! flip-flop flip-flop on the floor he got too dirty! he-he.
