wow.... my aro jumped so hard my lid split right in half.....btw. my lid is glass....anyone else had this happen

I have never had broken glass but plenty of jumping. You might try and see if you can figure out why he jumped. Example, back in the eighties I had my first Arowana. When I went to bed one night, I turned off the tank lights and then shut off the room lights, and crawled in bed. Then I heard a loud "BANG". He ended up on the floor. Well, I later learned by this jumping that my Arowana just did NOT like it to go from Day light (brightly lit tank) to instant darkness. This would make him jump every time. So, from then on, I ALWAYS turned the tank lights off while the room was still lit. I'd always leave the room lights on for at least 5 minutes after tank lights went out. You might see if you can figure out if there is something that is causing your arowana to jump. It might not be anything, after all, they are jumpers, but you never know. Just pay attention to the circumstances next time he jumps. Could be another fish......hope this helps

My buddy just bought a 22-24" Silver the other day.. And as soon as it hit the 5 gallon bucket .. LOL My buddy was looking it straight in the eye why it past his face 6' off the ground.. Then it walked half the stretch of the LFS... A good 20' before he pushed the LFS staff out of the way and handled business.. 3 Scales lost..

But no glass broke yet...

Steve 89 had his aro do that

mine would have done that as well, but the lid was acrylic and she just knocked it off the tank.

Twice...broke the glass into pieces..

I'd try jumping out too. I had one jump out of a 5 gallon bucket too. Mine was about 3 inches though. I left the water about a foot short of the top rim of the bucket but he still made the leap. It was like free willy. That little guy was hard to pick up off the tile floor too.
