I'm thinking of getting 3 silver arowanas and got some questions for the more experienced. What is dropeye. Is there anyway I could avoid it, What should I look for when choosing my new friends.

with 3 you had better have a big ass tank to keep them in (500 gallons+)

this is drop eye

you cant do anything to prevent it (to date)

if you get you get it, if you dont you either wont get it or get it later.

Big tank, and you may have to separate them if they choose to fight. Good filtration, Aro's are work and an art. They spook easy sometimes and tend to jump out of most anything they can. If you're new to Aro's I don't know if 3 is the best combo, they are aggreessive fish. Welcome, and best of luck.

Only way i've heard of staying away from The Drop is to buy wild... But finding a wild Silver LOL .. Kinda like finding a wild Oscar :O)

Tank size will be about 13000liters i'm not sure what it is in gallons but i think its about 3500gallons.

The aro's im thinking about getiing is 3-4" Is there anyway i could predict dropeye, or anything else i should be weary about. Is it better to start with just one. and get another one after awhile? The price i've got was for three but they're cool by themself to.

/Mike

Well i guess thats big enough LOLLOLOLOLOLOL

So there is nothing in particular to look for in a small silver aro?

the fish should be actively swimming with fins erected, clear eyes, no injuries to the body and fins. the body should well filled in (not starving) and have good color (not pale or dark from stress).

should have a hearty appitite, usually if you run your fingers gently across the top of the tank the fish should follow, a sign that it is hungry.
