How long does it usually take to get a jardini on new food? I have been trying for about 4 or 5 days now and im still unsuccessful. I dont want to starve him too long. He is about 7 inches.

Many factors can apply. How long have you had the jar? What was it previously eating? what food are you now trying? Any other fish in the tank? What size tank is it in?

I have had him for about 2 months now he is about 7 inches. I fed him crickets and superworms until now but i am now trying to get him to eat floating aro sticks and raw shrimp. He is in a 60 gallon currently with two plecos but all will be moved to a 135 when it is done cycling.

I had a 8" jardini and it took him about 5 days for me to see him eat the floating food sticks, I left the sticks in because the catfish in tank would eat them once they sink or got caught on filter. I noticed mine was fat so I did not worry about him not eating, I just had to be very still and patient before he ate in front on me. Now I have another jardini, about 1-2" bigger than my other in the same 180 gallon tank, doing fine so far, both eating floating sticks. I also have 2 baby jardini in a 55 to grow up and out of soon.

Ya getting him off the worms and crickets will be hard. I would recommend just waiting until you move him to the new tank. Most likely it won't eat for a week then anyways and may be a little more receptive of the pellets or food sticks then. You can also try using a veggie clip for the shrimp, but I would wait until after he is taking the food sticks before introducing shrimp.
