My 22" Silver hasn't eaten in a week. He is about 2and a half years old and has never done this before. I feed him shrimp and Tilapia. For some reason he shows no sign of interest in the shrimp for a week. I haven't tried anything else yet. Any comments would be appreciated
Though I haven't had much experience with it myself I have heard of hunger strikes being fairly common with aros. Just make sure you keep an eye on him/her and the water. Keep an eye on the way s/he swims/buoyancy complexions, irritation, fins, cloudy eye etc. If everything stays fine it could just be a hunger bout, maybe a little bit of bowel back up. You can try other foods like worms, large crickets, grass hoppers or beetles... Maybe something will spark a feeding. Good luck and keep us posted.
