aro pond

my plan is when my silver outgrows my 150 to move it to my 1200 gal indoor pond (8'x8'x2' plywood with 2"x4" stud framed walls and a pond liner) and hang thin sheets of plexiglass from the ceiling to the 3 open sides of the pond (4th side of the pond is up against a wall) too keep the aro from being able to jump out but still able to jump up. anyone ever see anything like this before? anyone see a downside with this idea?

Are you planning on giving your aro a reason to jump? I'm sure your proposed set up should be fine, just make sure there is no way to hit it's head on the edges of the pond.

the plexi will go from the ceiling to the inside edge of the pond where if he slid down the wall he would land on water and not the edge of the pond. i have plants that sit on the bottom of the pond that reach the ceiling (8ft) and i get spiders that make webs in the plants should be interesting to watch it jump up and get them. (would set up a video camera since you cant plan when its gonna jump up and snatch them.) i would also release a few moths butterflys etc. for it to jump up and eat. it would all be enclosed so the bugs couldnt just fly out.

sounds like a plan......... could also maybe do larger crickets and pull their jumping legs off
