Aro question...

I have a Black Aro, about 3' long...He has become very picky about the food we have been putting in his tank...We have been feeding him frozen krill, and a carnivore pellet...He has eatten these all the time, and now, its like he is turning up his nose at it...What else can I try? He won't eat beef heart either, he used too, but now he just got so damn picky...Does this happen cause he is getting older? I am wondering if anyone has any advice for me....PLEEEEASE???

Well, either ways, the answer is the same, starve the little b@st@rd and he"ll cave eventually, or you will... but keep strong cause an adult aro thats picky can be very FRUSTRATING!

Thanks to ya both...I will try that...We fed him last night, but he just swam right by the food! It was frozen krill, his fav food! Weird!!!

Id try some live crickets to get him off his fast. I feed those at my LFS to get the fresh imports eating and it works pretty well. Try a dozen large, and then hit him with some krill the next day. You could also take a shot at feeding him some crab instead of krill and see how he takes to that.

Good Morning! Thanks for the advice...He ate crickets when he was just a little guy, I had tried to feed him those about a month ago, swam right by them...lol...I will try them again though. Does the Sally's brand have a crab meat? I will goto the lfs and check it out...I work right down the street from a great lfs!

My silver does the same thing he will only eat freeze dried krill on a regular basis and occasionally Hikari food sticks. and nothing else

mine eat mostly anything i put including pellets, only liked the hikari brand though.. but they like meaty foods better, mine ate beefheart, shrimp, anchovies and mussels

By black do you means the O. ferreirei? Damn that is huge! Most references say they usually top out between 18-24".
