That fella looks old. Well my guess is that he probably struck something, or maybe the ray in the tank? I suggest just leaving it and keep up with the water change and see if any difference occur. You dont want to add med and start affecting everything in the tank. Best of luck Bud.

He could have burned himself on the heater... don't worry so much about his appetite.. it will return.. but keep an eye on how he acting..

he's been acting really strange lately.. it's like he wants to wiggle his head (but body) that he feels something bother him.. his tail is been like that for 3 months now.. it has white blisters with hair like in the middle. i have not been eating his favorite Super worms for a week now.. last week he only ate one pealed shrimp which i was supprised to see..

I personally would do 20-30% water change every other day adding salt. Get temp back up to 80 or so.
I have had good luck with triple sulfa when my tank got sick but it killed the biological filtration for a few weeks. It was fine with my rays too. Binox is a good treatment that is ray safe as well.

Any new fish added or anything else that might have changed? What about the water coming from the tap? Did the water dept. add any new chemicals or anyhting that might have thrown water quality off.

Hey, This is exactly what my silver aro has. check out my thread.
I have a ray in there too but NO3 is pretty high so I'm thinking it's nitrogen related.

Try adding salt.

each time i water change i add salt.

i have done water quite offen lately after i see the blister on my aros cheek. i have gotten the temp back up after the controller malfunction for 2 days.. have gotten the temp to 83 degree now.. i try to find the triple sulfa and binox online but no luck.. try my usual bigals and drs frost and smith.. i have tested the tap water when this happen and the nitrate level read 0ppm.. but i notices this happens every year around this time.. the change of fall to winter my aro and my friend's aro have same sanarios. both aro when adding water same temp the body slim would shed. my aro's slim sheds a lots. 2 yrs ago it was like it's fizzing out, after water change.. i have not added any fish into the tank but put my 1st batch pup male back into the tank from a independent 40 gal breeder stand alone tank in another room.. but that didn't do anything to the aro but when the heater controller malfunctioned.. just hope my aro is strong enought for this.. anyone can tell me what i can do to help the tail of my aro's problem???
